EVENT DESCRIPTION
After more than 2 years of remote gatherings via various online platforms, the Malaysian Australian Alumni Council (MAAC) is now once again preparing for the Australian Alumni Awards 2022 where outstanding Malaysian graduates of Australian Universities will be recognised at the first in-person Australian Alumni Gala Dinner after Covid-19 which will be held on Friday 2 December 2022 at the Mayang Sari Grand Ballroom, JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur in the presence of more than 400 corporate sponsors, Australian alumni and guests.
At the same time, the MAAC is also pleased to announce the newly established Female Alumnus of the Year Award as a part of this year’s Australian Alumni Awards. Nominations are now opened for the 2022 Australian Alumni Awards and you are encouraged to submit your nominations for the awards.
There will be 6 categories of awards including the new Female Alumnus of the Year Award. The other 4 includes the Distinguished Alumni Award, Young Distinguished Alumni Award, Young Entrepreneur Award and Community Achievement Award which will recognise exceptional Malaysians who graduated from an Australian University and have made significant contributions in various fields and to society over the many years, while the 5th award, the Australian University Alumni Chapter Award will be presented to an alumni association, chapter or group in Malaysia that has increased awareness of the significant role alumni play in strengthening the Australia – Malaysia relationship and demonstrated the lasting impact of alumni engagement programs.
The nomination criteria are available on the nomination forms. Nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award, Young Distinguished Alumni Award, Female Alumnus of the Year Award , Young Entrepreneur Award and/ or Community Achievement Award can be submitted here while nominations for the Australian University Alumni Chapter Award can be submitted here latest by Friday 7 October 2022.
