Murdoch University’s Professional Development Lunch and AGM

Murdoch University Alumni Malaysian Chapter with support of Murdoch University Alumni Relations Office held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, 26 October 2013 at Cititel Hotel, Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur. The results of the election for the Executive Committee Term 2013/2014 (Adrian’s 10th year) were unanimous as nominations were uncontested.  Adrian Ong continues to be the President with Florence Kwan as Vice President, Elaine Louise Jalleh as Honorary Secretary and Richard Chok as Treasurer.

Ms. Vanessa Fernandez-Kennedy, Manager of Alumni Relations later spoke and thanked everyone for coming and for their support. Aside from the AGM, Murdoch University will each year stage a speaker to present a topic of interest.  This year, Ms Pat PW Yeoh, Managing Director of PM Resources was invited to present on Emotional Quality Profile (EQP). Ms Yeoh’s presentation touched on human behaviour and the DISC Model. Ms Yeoh also administered the EQ profile and conducted a personal analysis on each participant.

Adrian’s profile as a high ‘I’ indicating he is extremely communicative, friendly and influential. An ‘I’ person can be idealistic and impulsive with the fear of losing social standing (lose face). Everyone had a good laugh at his profile and agreed that Adrian’s profile was not surprisingly – accurate.

After lunch, Associate Professor Dr Peter Warring, Singapore Dean of Murdoch University, provided an update on Murdoch University, its future plan and where it ranked in Australia and globally. The event ended with games of Pictionary where both Peter Warring & Vanessa were called to participate.
