The MAAC receives surprise sponsorship

The Passion and Commitment (P&C) Gala Dinner organised by Alliance Women NGOs Malaysia (AWNM) held on Monday, 24 June 2013 brought a pleasant and much welcomed surprise for The MAAC. AWNM President, Puan Seri Datin Sri Dr Susan Cheah, also The MAAC’s former and respected president, presented The MAAC with a generous sponsorship of RM10,000 and an appreciation certificate for The MAAC’s continuous efforts towards strengthening the Australian alumni relations in Malaysia and in sustaining the Malaysia Australia Colombo Plan Commemoration (MACC) Scholarship.

The P&C Gala Dinner saw over 800 people in attendance including 10 representatives from The MAAC. “Puan Seri has always been a strong supporter of The MAAC,” said The MAAC President, Ms Pat PW Yeoh. She added, “Puan Seri, as the former The MAAC president and an Australian alumnus of Victoria University, understands the struggles in maintaining a non-profit organisation like The MAAC and is always generous in supporting The MAAC’s initiatives.” “Puan Seri’s sponsorship will be used towards the strategic projects planned for 2013,” said Ms Yeoh.

The MAAC President was also very honoured to receive a personalised front cover copy of the P&C coffee table book. The coffee table book is a tribute to all who are passionate and committed to showcasing their talent and have dedicated their talent and time towards their passion. “The MAAC members are made up of Malaysians who are Australian alumni who volunteer their time and effort towards profiling Australian education and alumni relations in Malaysia and in the region.” “It is indeed very rewarding and humbling to be recognised this way, and I accept this recognition in honour of The MAAC family” said Ms Yeoh.
