Australia Malaysia Student Mobility Forum

On Monday 19 May 2014, The Australian Education International and the Malaysian Ministry of Education jointly organised the Australia Malaysia Student Mobility Forum at The Prince Hotel & Residences in Kuala Lumpur. The event brought together representatives of Australian and Malaysian universities with the goal of increasing mobility opportunities for Australian students. Sessions included study opportunities for undergraduate and research postgraduate students in Malaysia, what it is like to live and work here, how students need to be prepared, opportunities for internships etc.

Noting that The MAAC are keen to be involved in the New Colombo Plan when it comes to Malaysia, Ms Karen Welsh, the Counsellor for AEI invited The MAAC to participate in the forum. Mr Adrian Ong, Vice President represented The MAAC in a panel session that looked at the sort of support that students will need when they are here in Malaysia.

The Panel included Ms Jan Drew, JMD Consulting, The Global Student, Mr Henry Lim, Executive Vice President (Operations), HELP International Corporation Bhd and two Australian student mobility students.

Later that evening, a networking reception was held where The MAAC representatives had the opportunity to meet Australian and Malaysian education representatives and promote The MAAC’s reverse scholarships under the Malaysia Australia Colombo Plan Commemoration (MACC) Scholarship Program.
