MASCA Down Under Camp (DUC) 2017

The MAAC was invited to participate in the Down Under Camp (DUC) 2017 hosted by the Malaysian Students’ Council of Australia (MASCA). The DUC was held at the KDU University College campus on 21 January 2017 (Saturday) and was well attended by 50 prospective students who will be furthering their studies in Australia in the upcoming semester commencing February 2017.

MAAC General Secretary, Raymond Tanuwidjaja represented the MAAC at the event in the “Aiming for the Southern Star” and “From Football to Footy” segment. These segments were meant to serve as a pre-departure briefing for students, helping them to adapt to the life abroad better. From the event, students had the opportunity to listen to former alumni of Australian universities sharing their experiences studying abroad in Australia. Raymond was also joined by fellow alumni Mr Nelson Gerrard, Mr Gabriel Oh and Mr Calvin Tan in the segments. Towards the end of the speeches, students were presented an opportunity to post questions via a Q&A session to the speakers. After a 2-hour session, the event concluded with MASCA presenting a token of appreciation to The MAAC and students returned home well-informed before embarking on their journey in Australia.
