Murdoch University Alumni Networking Party 2014

Murdoch University Alumni Relations hosted an alumni networking party that kicked the 2014 social calendar off with a bang! The exclusive networking event was held in a private function room at Havana Bar and Grill, Kuala Lumpur. Murdoch alumni and friends were treated with delicious treats of food and refreshments, free flowing house beers, house wines, juices, soft drinks, and cool tunes.

President of the Murdoch University Malaysian Alumni Chapter, Mr Adrian Ong, welcomed guests and thanked them for their continuous support. He said, ‘whilst this networking event is catered to alumni members 21 years and above, we have planned a year full of events to cater for the young, alumni members with children and the more senior graduates.’ Among the events lined up for the year are a visit to Aquaria KLCC in June and an AGM and Professional Development Program in October. He also emphasised that 2015 is Murdoch University’s 40^th Anniversary and the Alumni Chapter’s 15^th Anniversary. Activities that are in the 2015 calendar to celebrate Murdoch’s anniversary include a bi-annual movie event, a formal dinner or lunch.

In attendance and representing Murdoch University from Australia were Vanessa Fernandez-Kennedy, Manager – Alumni Relations and Erin Roche, Alumni Relations Officer. In her address, Vanessa thanked alumni for their continuous support, in particular, Adrian Ong for his leadership as President for the last 11 years. Representing the Australian Trade Commission, Kuala Lumpur were Joel Backwell, Assistant Trade Commissioner and his spouse, Austrade Education Representative, Jennifer Wan, Mr Jonathan Gan, The MAAC representative and Ms Amy Gonsalviz, The MAAC Executive Director.
