Victorian Government Super Trade Mission to Malaysia

Victoria’s Premier Denis Napthine acknowledged the importance of alumni relations at Victoria’s Super Trade Mission alumni networking event held on Monday, 17 June 2013. The alumni networking event was held in conjunction with Victoria’s first and Australia’s largest trade mission to South East Asia, with approximately 300 firms and 450 delegates participating in more than 1500 business matching meetings.

The event brought together a large network of alumni who are graduates from Victoria’s 21 universities, TAFEs and training providers and belong to The Victorian Connection Malaysia, a networking group that connects professional Victorian expatriates, repatriates, alumni and those interested in doing business with Victoria, who are located in Malaysia.

The Victorian Connection Malaysia is an Associate Member of The Malaysian Australian Alumni Council (The MAAC). The MAAC President, Ms Pat PW Yeoh, Mr Adrian Ong, Vice-President of Alumni Relations and Ms Amy Gonsalviz, Executive Director who attended the event was pleased to hear of the many outcomes from Victoria’s Super Trade Mission to Malaysia.

In addition to having Monash University Malaysia and Swinburne University of Technology, two renowned Australian university branch campuses in Malaysia, several other Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to further enhance the education ties between Malaysia and Victoria.
